Sunday, April 28 is National Day of Mourning

On April 28, the City of Oshawa will join communities and organizations in observing National Day of Mourning to remember those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness at work.
On Sunday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at City Hall (North Parkette), the City will honour workers who have died, were injured, or became ill from their job. The City will lower the Day of Mourning Flag at City Hall and flags will fly at half-mast at City facilities.

When: April 24, 2024
Why: To complete work on the bridge deck.

To celebrate Earth Week, GM Canada president and managing director, Kristian Aquilina, Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter, and members of City Council came together to memorialize the official land donation of McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve and Fenelon/Venus Park to the Oshawa community by planting a native Hackberry tree near McLaughlin Bay’s waterfront trail.

Oshawa Fire Services has partnered with Oshawa McDonald’s restaurants, continuing their public education program: Coffee with Fire Crews.
Oshawa Fire Prevention and Suppression Crews will be at an Oshawa McDonald’s between 10 a.m. and noon on the following dates to discuss fire safety with the community:
- Tuesday, April 30 – 501 Ritson Rd. S.
- Wednesday, May 15 – 501 Ritson Rd. S.

Planning for land uses and transportation around the future Central Oshawa GO Station is moving forward to Stage 3!
