Frequently Asked Questions

If my child reaches the minimum age required for a program after the program starts, can they still register?
No, participants must be the correct age at the start of their registered program. For example, if a program begins on July 4 and the minimum age required is five, the child must be five on July 4. If the child does not turn five until July 11, they are not eligible for the program.
I am not sure what my child’s swim level is. How do I find out?
Visit a recreation facility for a complimentary swim assessment before registration day or contact Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 to connect with an Aquatic Coordinator.

Swim assessments are available at:

  • Camp Samac Outdoor Pool, Centennial Pool and Donevan Recreation Complex Pool during fun swims and public swims
  • Delpark Homes Centre Pool and South Oshawa Community Centre Pool during fun swims only

Find our swimming schedule on activeOshawa Online.

Can I register my child for a program using my account?
To register your child for a program, you must first add them to your family group account. If this process is not completed, you will not be able to register your child for a program. Learn how to add family members to your account at activeOshawa Online Help.
