The Playground Program will be available from July 2 to August 15, 2025. Coming to an Oshawa park near you!

Drop-off Playground Program

The Drop-off Playground Program is a free service offered by the City of Oshawa in partnership with Their Opportunity. This program runs Monday to Friday from July to August except on the Civic Holiday.

Guardians can drop-off children, aged five to 12, at select playground locations. Play Leaders will provide fun and engaging opportunities for children to play games, make crafts and enjoy other activities. Please note, washrooms are not available.

Registration

This program operates on a drop-off basis; advance registration is not required. All participants must complete the Emergency Contact and Consent Form each time they attend the program. Forms can be printed and submitted in person or filled out on-site.

Participants 10 years and older who want to walk home alone must submit a Permission to Walk Home Form, which is also available on-site. Children under 10 must be accompanied to and from the playground by a parent/guardian listed on the Emergency Contact and Consent Form. Government issued I.D. must be presented for pick-up. Children may come and go with written permission from a parent/guardian, but staff are not responsible once they leave the play area. The Drop-off Playground Program is subject to cancellation based on weather, staffing and attendance.

Preschool Playground Program

The Preschool Playground Program is a free service offered by the City in partnership with Their Opportunity. This program is available for families with children ages three to five and runs from 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. twice a week at select playground locations. Play Leaders facilitate opportunities for children and parents to play games and other activities. Each week features an activity focus in movement, crafts, dance or water.

Registration

The Preschool Program is drop-in only and as a result, advance registration is not required; however, parents/guardians are required to actively participate during program sessions. The Preschool Program is subject to cancellation based on weather, staffing and attendance.
