The street sign for Debwewin Miikan (Duh-Bway-Win Mee-Can) was unveiled this afternoon in a traditional Indigenous renaming ceremony in downtown Oshawa. The ceremony was overseen by local Elders and supported by Bawaajigewin Aboriginal Community Circle. Proudly featuring the Thunderbird logo of the Anishinabek Nation, the street sign and its name promote Indigenous languages and their revitalization while demonstrating the City’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

November 1 to 7 is Carbon Monoxide (CO) Awareness Week in Ontario and Oshawa Fire Services (OFS) is reminding residents to install new batteries in all smoke and CO alarms when setting the clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 a.m.

The City of Oshawa is developing its first consolidated Stormwater Management Master Plan. The Master Plan will be developed through a City-wide comprehensive study that will evaluate the effectiveness of existing key stormwater management infrastructure, develop stormwater management strategies and policies for sustainable growth through the year 2051, and recommend and prioritize rehabilitation actions and new works.
