City of Oshawa records strongest year of building activity with over $900 million in permit values

The City of Oshawa is pleased to report that building permit activity in 2022 exceeded any year in Oshawa’s recorded history. Oshawa’s previous building permit record was set in 2017 at $614 million. In 2022, the City shattered that record with more than $900 million in building permit values!
In total Oshawa set 25 new building records in 2022. Highlights include:

The City of Oshawa and Oshawa Public Libraries (OPL) are pleased to officially announce that the Northview Library Branch is now the John Aker Northview Branch.
The renaming of the library branch is in honour of the late John Aker, one of Oshawa’s longest-serving City and Regional Councillors.

City of Oshawa mourns passing of David Onley

The City of Oshawa extends its deepest sorrow on the passing of The Honourable David C. Onley, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
Mr. Onley served the province as Lieutenant Governor from 2007 to 2014. As Lieutenant Governor, he served all Ontarians with honour and was committed to raising public awareness about accessibility and inclusion. Prior to his appointment as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Onley was a highly respected broadcast journalist.
