Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park sign unveiled at ground-breaking ceremony

Today, the City of Oshawa officially unveiled the Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park sign and began construction with a ceremonial ground-breaking.
The City of Oshawa’s newest addition to the waterfront parks system is located at the southeast corner of Simcoe Street South and Harbour Road and named in recognition of political icon and Oshawa native Ed Broadbent.

Sandy Hawley Park officially open with ribbon-cutting

Today, the City of Oshawa officially celebrated the grand-opening of Sandy Hawley Park at a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mr. Hawley and members of his family in attendance.
Sandy Hawley Park is located on Kentucky Derby Way, north of Britannia Avenue West in the Tribute Communities Dantonbury subdivision. The park features a playground as well as the City’s newest splash pad that will open for the season on Wednesday, May 25.

City of Oshawa names new park after Oshawa-built GM Silverado truck

The City of Oshawa has named a future Oshawa park to recognize and celebrate the reopening of the General Motors Oshawa Assembly plant and the high-quality new Silverado trucks being built at the plant.
At a recent Council Meeting, City Council approved the naming of “Silverado Park” that will be a feature in the Treasure Hill development located north of Shankel Road and west of Townline Road North.
