In November, the Durham Greener Buildings program held its annual Evening of Recognition, celebrating buildings in Durham Region that perform exceptionally well in energy efficiency.
The City of Oshawa received two awards:
Best Energy Performing Fire Station (Large) Award — City of Oshawa’s Fire Hall 1
The Award is based on the fire station with the lowest energy usage when compared against building size.

As we wrap up 2024 there is much to celebrate and look forward to, Oshawa!
2024 marked our Centennial Celebration Year with the official 100+ anniversary kick-off on March 8 at the Regent Theatre in downtown Oshawa. Other centennial highlights included commemorative art and legacy projects and enhanced City events that drew record attendance at Canada Day, the award-winning Peony Festival and Kars on King.

Oshawa’s Toys for Tickets program wraps up another year of giving

This year’s Toys for Tickets campaign in Oshawa raised $3,750, which will help support local children and youth in need during the holiday season.
From November 19 to December 3, motorists who received parking tickets had the opportunity to contribute to the campaign in lieu of the penalty payment.
