On behalf of the City of Oshawa and Council, I extend my sincere condolences to the families, friends and neighbours affected by this tragic incident at 149 Olive Avenue.

Residential fire in Oshawa on Olive Avenue

Following an extensive residential fire that broke out early the morning of March 22, Oshawa Fire Services has called in the Toronto Heavy Urban Search and Rescue unit for assistance.
At approximately 12:54 a.m. on Monday, March 22, emergency operators received a call of a house fire at 149 Olive Avenue between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in Oshawa.
Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy fire and heavy smoke conditions. Emergency responders assisted multiple people.

The City of Oshawa extends our condolences to the family and friends of Brock Township Mayor Debbie Bath-Hadden who passed away on Sunday, January 24 after courageously battling cancer.
Bath-Hadden served as Brock Township’s Ward 4 Councillor for three terms from 1997 to 2006 and then served as Regional Councillor from 2010 to 2014. Bath-Hadden was elected Mayor in 2018, becoming the first female Mayor in Brock Township’s history.
