The City of Oshawa is exploring the possibility of offering internet voting for its 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections and wants to know your thoughts.
Between Monday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 19, residents may be randomly contacted by Environics Research to participate in a confidential telephone or online survey. The survey looks to gain a better understanding of Oshawa residents’ voting preferences.

Recount results for the Office of Ward 1 City Councillor

On November 15, 2022, Oshawa City Council passed a resolution to require a recount of the votes cast for the Office of Ward 1 City Councillor for the candidates Rosemary McConkey and Theresa Corless.
The recount was held on Thursday, November 24. The recount included the tabulation of all the Ward 1 ballots cast at each of the 11 Advance Voting days, the Vote by Mail ballots, and the ballots cast at the 7 Polling Stations and at City Hall on Voting Day.

On Monday, October 24, Oshawa voters took to the polls to determine who would guide the City of Oshawa, Region of Durham and local school boards for the next four years.
As per the Regional Clerk, Durham Region’s new Regional Chair is John Henry.

The 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections nomination deadline is fast approaching! Prospective candidates must complete the required forms and file their nomination according to the Nomination Process before 2 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday, August 19.
Interested individuals can file nomination for the following offices with the City Clerk:
