Universal change room closure at Civic Centennial Pool

The universal change room at the Civic Recreation Complex, Centennial Pool will be unavailable from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday to Friday starting July 2 through August 30. Gender-specific change rooms will be available for use.

Free playground program returns to Oshawa parks this summer

Summer playground programs are coming to a neighbourhood park near you starting Tuesday, July 2, in partnership with Their Opportunity. Children aged three to 12 are invited to check out their local park this summer to take part in a fun and free experience. Playground Programs are run by trained leaders who provide interactive and exciting play opportunities such as games, songs and crafts for children daily throughout the summer.

Events in the Park offers summer evening entertainment

The City of Oshawa announces its lineup of talented artists who will perform this summer as part of the Events in the Park entertainment series presented by TD Bank. Kicking off the summer lineup will be musicians Inka’s Band on Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park (169 Harbour Rd.).

Drop-in sport cancellations at Delpark Homes Centre

From Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28, all drop-in sports programs at Delpark Homes Centre are cancelled, with the exception of evening badminton from 8-10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The affected programs include daytime badminton, pickleball, basketball and preschool drop-ins.
Additionally, all drop-in sports programs are cancelled during the Canada Day long weekend from Saturday, June 29 to Monday, July 1.
Canada Day: Fireworks safety and neighbourly reminders

As we prepare to celebrate Canada Day, Oshawa Fire Services reminds community members to keep fire safety and their neighbours in mind when lighting fireworks.
Under the City’s Fireworks By-law, community members must follow the manufacturer’s requirements for the discharge of fireworks, and can discharge Consumer (Family) Fireworks on their private property without a permit between dusk and 11 p.m. on:
- Victoria Day;
- Canada Day; and,
- the celebration known as Diwali Day.
