Culture Counts Awards nominations being accepted in January 2025

The City of Oshawa is calling for nominations of artists, collectives and organizations that have made a meaningful impact in the community.
Nominations for the Oshawa Culture Counts Awards will be accepted beginning Monday, January 6. The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025. Oshawa City Council will present recipients with their awards at a Council meeting in spring 2025.

Civic Dome Heating Replacement Project

The Civic Dome is currently undergoing a heating replacement project, which will continue through the winter months. As a result, the dome will not be heated during this period and colder temperatures are expected inside.
Users of the Civic Dome track and tennis courts are advised to dress in layers or wear cold-weather-appropriate clothing to stay warm. If temperatures inside the dome become uncomfortable, members may cancel their memberships at any time without penalty.

Construction is progressing on Rose Valley Community Park, located at 1095 Thornton Rd. North, north of Rossland Road and south of Taunton Road.

The Rotary Park and Pool Redevelopment project is reaching construction milestones.
Construction began in Spring 2024 and it continues to move forward and advance with the recent installation of the footings for the building foundation. Other completed work includes underground servicing such as watermain, storm and sanitary sewers.
