Durham Region Fire Departments launch “Spring into Summer Safety” tips Campaign

Fire and Emergency Services in Durham Region and Oshawa Fire Services have partnered with Enbridge Gas to promote Spring and Summer safety tips on local radio stations.
From May 3 to June 29, radio ads featuring representatives from Enbridge Gas and the team of public educators from the local fire services in Durham Region will promote the warm weather safety tips on KX96 New Country FM, 94.9 theRock, 107.7FM and 1580AM CKDO each weekend.

Better understand how your tax dollars are used with a personalized, estimated receipt of the City portion of your 2024 residential property tax dollars.
As a lower-tier municipality, the City collects property taxes for not only itself, but also on behalf of the Regional Municipality of Durham and the Province of Ontario. For every dollar collected this year, the City will keep only 40 cents, while approximately 45 cents will be sent to the Region and 15 cents to the Province for local school...

Bridge Closure: Baker Park Bridge is closed due to safety reasons.
Where: Baker Park Bridge closed between Regent Dr. and Parklane Ave. This does not affect any roads.
When: Until further notice.

Simcoe St. S. bridge closure May 3 to 6

The Ministry of Transportation (M.T.O.) is replacing the Simcoe St. S. and Albert St. overpass structures along Highway 401 in Oshawa.
As part of the construction operations, there will be a full closure of the Simcoe St. Bridge from Bloor St. to the westbound on-ramp and closure of the eastbound Simcoe St. off-ramp. This closure is to prepare for the second half of the bridge to be demolished by preparing the area for traffic to use the newly created half of the Simcoe St. Bridge.
