Winter Break Activity Schedule
From December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, City recreation facilities will operate on modified schedules for drop-in sports, leisure swimming, and leisure skating. Check out the Winter Break Activity Schedule for more details.

Please arrive at the facility during the scheduled time of the activity and pay applicable admissions fees at the reception desk.

Free Public Skates sponsored by Midway Nissan
Until March 2025, enjoy free public skating sessions at the Donevan Recreation Complex Arena on the first Saturday of each month. Free skate sessions run from 1 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. on the following dates:
- Saturday, December 7, 2024
- Saturday, January 4, 2025
- Saturday, February 1, 2025
- Saturday, March 1, 2025
Regular leisure skating rules will apply. Children six years and younger are required to wear a C.S.A. approved hockey helmet and it is strongly encouraged for all other skaters.

Residents 55 years of age and older, living in or paying property taxes in Oshawa, now qualify for discounts on recreation programs, memberships and admission fees. Learn more.
Activity | Description |
---|---|
Adult Skate | An open skate for community members 18 years of age and older. |
Parent & Tot Skate | A slower-paced environment for young skaters 6 years and younger. An adult must provide constant, active, on ice supervision. |
Public Skate | An open skate for participants of all ages. |
Public rollerskating/rollerblading | Skaters 6 years and younger must be accompanied on the floor by a parent/guardian and must wear a helmet (ex. hockey, bike, skate board helmet). |
Shinny Hockey | Full hockey equipment is required, including CSA approved hockey helmet. Youth shinny participants (under 18 years) must wear a full face mask. Players must sign-in and pay at the reception desk before going on the ice and capacity limits are enforced. |
Stick and Puck | This skate is intended for participants to practice passing and stickhandling. CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory for everyone; all skaters under 18 years must wear a full face mask. Game play and team practices are not permitted. Hockey nets, skating aids and other training equipment are not permitted. Skaters 6 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised on the ice by a parent/guardian; maximum of 3 children per parent/guardian. Capacity limits are enforced. |
Ticket Ice | This is a figure skating program solely for figure skating practice. |
