Oshawa looks to make tobogganing safer on City-owned lands

A recent report recommends that the City of Oshawa provide designated tobogganing areas on City-owned for safe community use.
In response to a Durham Municipal Insurance Pool (D.M.I.P.) Risk Assessment of Toboggan Hills, Report CO-23-05 recommends that the City provide two sanctioned tobogganing areas – one at Knights of Columbus Park and the other at Grandview Village Park. The City of Oshawa extends its deepest sorrow on the passing of The Honourable David C. Onley, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
Mr. Onley served the province as Lieutenant Governor from 2007 to 2014. As Lieutenant Governor, he served all Ontarians with honour and was committed to raising public awareness about accessibility and inclusion. Prior to his appointment as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Onley was a highly respected broadcast journalist.

Interest in fox den puts wildlife at risk

City of Oshawa Parks staff have identified a fox den in south Oshawa which is attracting the attention of visitors and photographers. Although we appreciate the keen interest in urban wildlife, this attention can be harmful to wildlife and park users.
