The City of Oshawa’s new BMX Bike Park officially opened on August 18 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony with members of the Oshawa City Council and the BMX community in attendance.
The BMX Bike Park is located at 1095 Thornton Road North (east side of Thornton Road North and south of the Oshawa Airport Golf Club) in the future Rose Valley Community Park. Bike enthusiasts are reminded to ride safely when taking in the jumps at Oshawa’s first BMX Bike Park. The park is now open for public use at 1095 Thornton Road North (east side of Thornton Road and south of the Oshawa Airport Golf Club).

The 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections nomination deadline is fast approaching! Prospective candidates must complete the required forms and file their nomination according to the Nomination Process before 2 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday, August 19.
Interested individuals can file nomination for the following offices with the City Clerk:
- Mayor
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 1
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 2
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 3
- Regional and City Councillor, Ward 4

It’s summer in the great City of Oshawa and with that comes the return of many amazing events in our community. It’s exciting to see so many families, community members of all ages and visitors enjoying Oshawa events and attractions, including the award-winning Peony Festival weekend and Fiesta Week that both attracted thousands of visitors in June.
