The City of Oshawa has lowered its flags to half-mast at City Hall and City facilities to honour the memory of 215 Indigenous children whose remains were discovered in a mass grave at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia.

The City of Oshawa has proclaimed Sunday, May 30 through to Saturday, June 5 as National AccessAbility Awareness Week (N.A.A.W.) in Oshawa.

Two heritage properties in Oshawa have been recognized by City Council as properties of cultural heritage value or interest under the Ontario Heritage Act.
At the April 26 Council meeting, Council advanced the designation of the following properties under the Ontario Heritage Act as properties of cultural heritage value or interest:

With the arrival of the spring weather, the City of Oshawa’s If you see it, report it! campaign encourages community members to report damage, vandalism or graffiti to City boulevard fixtures to Service Oshawa.
Oshawa’s boulevards are home to a significant number of fixtures that help serve our community every day. Fixtures are located on approximately 1,200 km of city boulevards and may include the following:

Businesses in the downtown area of Oshawa are encouraged to learn more about a pilot project that temporarily permits sandwich board signs.
Sandwich board signs are an affordable tool for businesses to advertise to visitors and community members, especially during the summer season.
The pilot project runs until April 1, 2023 and permits sandwich board signs in Central Business District Zones in the Downtown Oshawa Urban Growth Centre.
