On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+ (OSCC55+) held a wrap-up event to celebrate the success of a $63,800 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). OSCC55+ partners joined Oshawa MPP Jennifer French, Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter, and Stephanie Ball, an OTF volunteer, as they congratulated OSCC55+ on rebuilding and recovering from the impacts of COVID-19 by launching a hybrid model of online programs.

Businesses in the downtown area of Oshawa are encouraged to learn more about a pilot project that temporarily permits sandwich board signs.
Sandwich board signs are an affordable tool for businesses to advertise to visitors and community members, especially during the summer season.
The pilot project runs until April 1, 2023 and permits sandwich board signs in Central Business District Zones in the Downtown Oshawa Urban Growth Centre.

On behalf of the City of Oshawa, Mayor Carter enthusiastically welcomed the announcement that GM Canada will add light-duty pickup production and a third shift at the Oshawa Assembly Plant, creating more than 2,600 new jobs since operations resumed at the plant.
