Oshawa Executive Airport – Action Plan update

The City of Oshawa is providing an update on the Oshawa Executive Airport Action Plan related to balancing the needs of both airport users and community members.
The Oshawa Executive Airport is a significant asset for economic growth for the City and Durham Region, and the City’s long-term vision includes balancing the quality of life of our residents with the economic benefits of the airport.
The Council-approved 2021-2022 Oshawa Executive Airport Action Plan includes the following actions:

City of Oshawa renews Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 251

The City of Oshawa is pleased to announce that on July 10, Oshawa City Council endorsed the renewal of a new Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 251 (Inside Workers).
The renewal agreement, which will expire on December 31, 2025, includes modest benefit increases and wage increases of 3.0% effective for January 1, 2023; 2.5% for January 1, 2024; and 2.5% for January 1, 2025.

Fenelon/Venus Park features a new playground and accessible amenities

The City of Oshawa is pleased to announce the official reopening of Fenelon/Venus Park, a neighbourhood park featuring new playground equipment and accessible features. The park redevelopment project was made possible by $240,000 in funding from the Government of Canada’s Canada Community-Building Fund.

Celebrating Camp Samac’s rich heritage in Oshawa

Members of City Council and representatives from Heritage Oshawa and Scouts Canada celebrated the heritage designation of Camp Samac and installation of a heritage plaque.
Designated as a property of cultural heritage value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, a heritage plaque is now installed prominently at Camp Samac’s main gateway structure on Simcoe Street North.
