New Oshawa 40 km/h neighbourhoods now in effect

Update: Maps of the 40 km/h zones are now included.
To help improve community safety, the City of Oshawa has introduced new reduced speed limits in select Oshawa neighbourhoods.
The 40 km/h area pilot program lowers speed limits that are typically 50 km/h to 40 km/h in five neighbourhoods across the city approximately within these boundaries:
- Ward 1 - Conlin Rd. E., Townline Rd. N., Taunton Rd. E., and Harmony Rd. N. (map),
- Ward 2 - Taunton Rd. E., Ritson Rd. N., Rossland Rd. E., and Simcoe St. S. (

Oshawa welcomes GM’s $280 million investment in next generation truck production

On behalf of the City of Oshawa, Mayor Carter is thrilled to welcome GM Canada’s announcement that they will invest a further $280 million in the Oshawa Assembly plant to build GM’s next internal combustion engine (ICE) full-size trucks.
