Winter waste reminders

As the seasons change, Oshawa residents are reminded that winter weather can make it difficult for waste collection operators to see and safely reach your garbage, green bin and recycling.
Please keep these reminders in mind when placing waste at the curb:
- Respect and maintain physical distancing of 6 feet (2 metres) with our waste collection staff and please do not approach waste collection vehicles.

The proposed 2021 City Budget is now available online on the Budget webpage (www.oshawa.ca/budget).
City staff presented the proposed 2021 City Budget to Council the morning of Friday, November 13. Members of the public are welcome to watch the budget meetings online via webstream (https://video.isilive.ca/oshawa/live.html) on the following dates beginning at 9:30 a.m.:

The City of Oshawa is celebrating today’s announcement that will see General Motors planning to invest up to $1.3 billion to bring pickup truck production back to the Oshawa Assembly Plant along with the hiring of over 1,700 hourly workers. Oshawa Fire Services is encouraging community members to cook up fire safety in their homes, test their smoke alarms and practice their home fire escape plan as part of Fire Prevention Week. This year’s Fire Prevention Week runs from October 4-10, 2020 and the theme is “Serve up Fire Safety in the Kitchen!”
