Gratitude blooms at Lakeridge Health Oshawa

The City of Oshawa is proud to share a colourful thank you message in full bloom in Alexandra Park across from the entrance of Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
The new 300-square-foot garden displays over 1,000 encore red Begonias spelling out the words “Thank you” surrounded by a pink and white Begonia border.

Oshawa Fire Services reminds of the dangers of illegal open air burning

Oshawa Fire Services reminds residents that only community members with an approved fire permit (for properties north of Conlin Road, having greater than 10 acres) respecting the Open Air Burning By-law are allowed to burn. All other burning – such as outdoor wood-burning fireplaces, fire pits or chimineas – is prohibited.

City of Oshawa celebrates Pride with a Rainbow Crosswalk

As we celebrate Pride in our communities this month, the City of Oshawa has installed a Rainbow Crosswalk at the main entrance to Oshawa City Hall adjacent to The Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery.
The City obtained community feedback on three proposed locations for a Rainbow Crosswalk in Oshawa.
Based on the feedback received, the most preferred location was the pedestrian crosswalk located adjacent to the main entrance to Oshawa City Hall (50 Centre St. S.), and The Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery.

In March 2020, the City of Oshawa proclaimed Sunday, May 31 through to Saturday, June 6 as National AccessAbility Week (N.A.A.W.) in Oshawa.
