Creek Bank Erosion
The City has a cost-sharing policy to assist private property owners in correcting creek bank erosion within their property. The policy will only apply where the City determines the deterioration is a result of upstream development.
What is the cost-share?
- The City will contribute 85% of the total project costs
- The property owner will pay the remaining 15%
How do I request the City to do the work?
The City implements creek projects on a reach-by-reach basis and will not work on individual properties. To make a request:
- first, contact the City to determine the project limit
- contact all affected property owners to sign a petition for the work
- all property owners must agree
Will I need to contribute anything more than my share of the cost?
Upon project approval, the property owner will enter into a formal agreement with the City. In addition to costs, the City will need permanent easements for the improvements.
