City expresses sincere condolences to families impacted by tragic residential fire in Oshawa
On behalf of the City of Oshawa and Council, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of those affected by this morning’s tragic house fire at 149 Olive Avenue.
Just before 1 a.m. on Monday, March 22, emergency operators received a call of a house fire at 149 Olive Avenue between Simcoe Street and Ritson Road in Oshawa.
Upon arrival, fire crews and first responders encountered heavy fire and heavy smoke conditions and assisted multiple people.
It is with great sadness that Oshawa Fire Services reports that at this time, there are four people who are unaccounted for. Our sincere sympathies are with the family and friends of those community members. Our thoughts are with the families who are displaced from their homes and receiving temporary lodging.
“We are extremely saddened to learn of this tragic event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends who have been impacted during this difficult time,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “Our appreciation goes out to the first responders including our fire crews.”
