City of Oshawa Celebrates the Graduating Class of 2022
June is Convocation Month in the City of Oshawa, with thousands of new graduates joined by their family members and friends celebrating in our community from June 2 to 17.
During this exciting time of year, the City is sharing in the celebrations with graduates from Durham College, Ontario Tech University and Trent University Durham GTA. As we welcome the class of 2022, along with returning graduates from 2020 and 2021,and honour their many academic achievements, residents and visitors will notice unique additions in Oshawa’s downtown to help celebrate this momentous occasion, including:
- Selfie stations
- Window signage & stickers
- Convocation ambassadors to assist with wayfinding and contributing to the celebratory experience
We invite visitors to explore our community and discover the many great venues that contribute to the student and family experience in Oshawa. Whether you are looking for the perfect food spot or some great entertainment, visitors are encouraged to use our Oshawa Spring Guide.
Home to over 25,000 post-secondary students, Oshawa’s postsecondary institutions contribute substantially to our local community economically, socially and culturally. TeachingCity Oshawa is a prime example that brings together the City of Oshawa and its education partners – Durham College, Ontario Tech University, Trent University Durham GTA, and the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Through TeachingCity, the City and its partners are focusing on addressing urban issues through innovation, collaboration, applied research and shared experiential learning opportunities with the aim to position Oshawa as a local, national and global community of urban research and learning.
