Events in the Park offers summer evening entertainment
The City of Oshawa announces its lineup of talented artists who will perform this summer as part of the Events in the Park entertainment series presented by TD Bank. Kicking off the summer lineup will be musicians Inka’s Band on Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park (169 Harbour Rd.).
Throughout the summer, attendees will be treated to performances highlighting a variety of genres of music, including South American, reggae, classic rock, opera, ’80s, R&B, and country, as well as interactive theatre, dance and drum lessons and two movie nights. Community members are encouraged to check out the complete schedule online for more details on who is performing and where.
New in 2024
As part of the City’s centennial year, expanded and enhanced programming is being offered at Memorial Park on Tuesdays and Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park on Thursdays throughout the summer months for all to enjoy. The events will start weekly on Thursday, July 4 and will be offered from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the various performances throughout the summer.
The community is also invited to enjoy a movie under the stars. Bring your snacks and chairs and settle in for the movies this summer held throughout the City, including:
- Thursday, August 29 at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park, 169 Harbour Rd.; and
- Friday, September 13 at Columbus Park, 3265 Simcoe St. N.
The movies at each location will start at dusk (expected to be around 8:30 p.m.), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
In addition to Events in the Park, the Memorial Park Bandshell will host performances by the Oshawa Civic Band on Wednesday, July 17, August 7 and August 28 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Events in the Park webpage.
