Flags lowered to half-mast to honour lives lost in residential fire on Olive Avenue
The City of Oshawa has lowered its flags to half-mast at City Hall and City facilities in memory of the lives lost in the March 22 fire at 149 Olive Avenue in Oshawa.
“On behalf of the City and Council, I extend my sincere condolences to the families, friends and neighbours affected by the tragic fire on Olive Avenue. We join the families during this time of grief and offer our thoughts and support,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter.
In the early morning of Monday, March 22, emergency services personnel received a call of a house fire at 149 Olive Avenue in Oshawa. Upon arrival, fire crews and first responders encountered heavy conditions and assisted multiple people.
Flags at City Hall and City facilities have been lowered to half-mast in memory of the lives lost in the tragic fire on March 22.
“This is a sad time for our community. By lowering our flags, we are reflecting and remembering the lives lost in this tragic incident,” said Mayor Carter.
