Free playground program returns to Oshawa parks this summer
Summer playground programs are coming to a neighbourhood park near you starting Tuesday, July 2, in partnership with Their Opportunity. Children aged three to 12 are invited to check out their local park this summer to take part in a fun and free experience. Playground Programs are run by trained leaders who provide interactive and exciting play opportunities such as games, songs and crafts for children daily throughout the summer.
Drop-off Playground Program
Children aged five to 12 can attend our drop-off program which allows guardians to drop their child off at playground locations near them. This program does not require advance registration; however, all participants must fill out consent forms on the first day they attend the program.
Preschool Playground Program
This summer, the City of Oshawa is pleased to offer a Preschool Playground Program that runs twice a week at various locations for children aged three to five. Advance registration is not required; however, parents/guardians are required to actively participate during program sessions. For more information visit Oshawa.ca/Play.
Playground Essentials
Participants should wear sunscreen, a hat and bring a water bottle. A complete listing of park locations can be found at Oshawa.ca/Play. Please refer to the City of Oshawa’s Service Disruptions for playground program status updates/cancellations. Should a playground program location continue to run during high heat, it will be with an emphasis on passive games and activities in shade, with frequent breaks.
