Mary St. road closure from Rossland Rd. E. to Robert St.
The Regional Municipality of Durham will begin construction for the replacement of the watermain, sanitary sewer and services on Mary Street from Rossland Road East to 150 metres north of Robert Street in the City of Oshawa. Works will include restoration of all disturbed areas and full asphalt removal and replacement.
Construction schedule
The Region’s contractor, Trisan Construction Ltd. is starting to mobilize on site and will continue construction on Mary Street until September 2025.
Road closure and parking
Mary Street will be closed to through traffic from Rossland Road to 200 metres north of Robert Street for the duration of the contract starting on May 13, 2024. Access for local traffic and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Traffic will be detoured to Rossland Road (Regional Road 28), Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) and Beatrice Street east.
Local residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of the construction workers. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway.
If you are unable to access your driveway due to this work, a permit is required to park on the street. To obtain an Occasional Use Parking Permit, go to www.oshawa.ca/parkingpermit or contact Service Oshawa at (905) 436-3311 and notify them quoting contract number D2023-54. This electronic parking permit will exempt your vehicle from the three hour on-street parking restriction only; all other parking restrictions still apply.
