New electric vehicle chargers now available at City facilities
As part of its ongoing commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (G.H.G.), the City of Oshawa has installed 16 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at City facilities across Oshawa.
With funding support through The Atmospheric Fund, the City has installed Level 2 charging stations which are now available to the public at the following City facilities:
- Civic Recreation Complex (99 Thornton Rd. S.)
- Delpark Homes Centre (1661 Harmony Rd. N.)
- South Oshawa Community Centre (1455 Cedar St.)
- Parkade 1 (on Centre Street between King and Bond streets)
- Parkade 2 (on McMillan Avenue between King and Bond streets)
- Parkade 3 (on Mary Street between King and Bond Streets)
- Consolidated Operations Depot (199 Wentworth St. E.)
By making more EV chargers available for public use, the City hopes to encourage more community members to use EVs and reduce their G.H.G. emissions. Reducing G.H.G. emissions is a key action needed to meet the City’s goal of Environmental Responsibility as outlined in the Oshawa Strategic Plan.
