Oshawa Public Libraries Notice: Oshawa Public Libraries Announces This Year’s Pass the Book – Oshawa Reads Title
Shared experiences bring people together. That’s why community reading events such as CBC’s Canada Reads, where everyone is encouraged to read the same book, are so popular.
On Friday, May 1, Oshawa Public Libraries is launching Pass the Book – Oshawa Reads 2020. This year’s selection is family-oriented and features the themes of kindness, chaos, family, and hope.
This year’s Pass the Book – Oshawa Reads title is the classic children’s novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Dahl, a British novelist, created some of the best-loved children’s stories of the 20th century, such as The BFG, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach. For adults, this is a perfect way to revisit your childhood by reading this classic tale again!
Reading together is better, and can help us step out of our own world for a little while when we need it most. Please join us for this year’s Pass the Book – Oshawa Reads, our special community read-along event and read on your own, with a friend, or together as a family. Let the shared experience of Oshawa’s biggest book club bring us closer together, even when we’re apart!
Be sure to watch for Pass the Book themed programs online throughout the spring and summer, and share your Pass the Book experiences with us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hashtag #OshawaReads.
