The City is aware of recent reporting from news outlets purporting to outline terms of settlement between Canadian Flight Academy Ltd. and the City of Oshawa. This reporting is incorrect, save and except for references to matters which were publicly disclosed by the City in a statement published to the City’s website. The City’s legal representatives have notified the news outlets that the reporting is incorrect and requested that the incorrect information be retracted and taken down.

The City of Oshawa (the “City”) and Canadian Flight Academy Ltd. (“CFA”) have agreed to a mutual resolution of their ongoing litigation. CFA has agreed to cease all in-air flight training activities at the Oshawa Executive Airport (the “Airport”) by December 31, 2025. CFA has agreed to depart the Airport by March 31, 2026. CFA has agreed to restrict its in-air flight training departures at the Airport to (i) after 8:00 A.M. on all days; and (ii) before 9:00 P.M. on weekends and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, the August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
The terms of the resolution are confidential and privileged, and neither party is at liberty to comment any further on the resolution.
