Come together for Community Cleanup Week
With spring in the air, it’s the perfect opportunity to be outside and active in our community by participating in the City’s annual Community Cleanup Week.
The kick-off week takes place April 22-25 and welcomes groups of all sizes who are interested in volunteering to clean up our parks, green spaces, trails and schoolyards. Registered participants will be provided free garbage bags and gloves (while supplies last) and will receive a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution to the community. To register or learn more, including choosing a community clean-up area or finding a group, visit oshawa.ca/CleanupWeek or email [email protected].
As part of the annual initiative, Communities with Brooms will return for a downtown spring cleaning on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 11 a.m. To register for Communities with Brooms, email [email protected].
The City of Oshawa would like to thank our event sponsors: TD, Swish, Wellings of Whitby and Walton Restoration for their continued support.
Save the date! In addition to Community Cleanup Week, join the Mayor’s downtown cleanup events Saturday mornings on May 3, June 14 and September 6 with Friends of Second Marsh. All volunteers will receive supplies, including gloves, maps and garbage bags (while supplies last). To register or learn more, visit oshawa.ca/CleanupWeek.
