Free screening of “There’s Something in the Water” this October
The Oshawa Environmental Advisory Committee (O.E.A.C.), in partnership with Ontario Tech University’s Office of Campus Infrastructure and Sustainability, is proud to present a free screening of the documentary film “There’s Something in the Water” on Thursday, October 24 at the Regent Theatre.
This documentary explores the injustices caused by environmental racism and how Indigenous and African Nova Scotian women are fighting to protect their communities, their land, and their futures.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. with a networking opportunity for attendees. Then, at 7 p.m., a presentation will be given, followed by the film screening.
Admission for the night is free. There will be a cash bar and door prizes awarded after the screening. Donations of non-perishable food items for our local food bank will also be accepted.
The Regent Theatre is located at 50 King St. E. in downtown Oshawa.
The O.E.A.C. is an advisory committee of Council that assists, advises and educates City Council, staff and the community on issues related to the environment. For more information, visit Oshawa.ca/OEAC and Oshawa.ca/Environment.
