Let’s make Halloween accessible for all!
The City of Oshawa is proud to support Treat Accessibly – a grassroots movement encouraging Canadians to create a safe, accessible and inclusive trick-or-treating experience.
Oshawa residents looking to provide an accessible experience for trick-or-treaters this year can pick up a free Treat Accessibly lawn sign to display from City Hall, a City recreation facility or Oshawa Public Libraries branch.

Providing an accessible trick-or-treating experience is easy; here’s how:
- Distribute candy from an obstacle-free location, like the end of your driveway
- Make sure the path to your trick-or-treating station is well lit and clear of hazards
- Refrain from using strobe lights and high-pitched, sudden loud noises
- Ensure pets are kept safely away from the front of your house
The Treat Accessibly initiative aligns with the City of Oshawa’s commitment to providing a healthy and safe community with accessible facilities, programs and services for everyone to enjoy. Additional information about accessibility in Oshawa is available on the City’s Accessibility webpage.
Treat Accessibly 2024 is supported by Canadian Tire, Kinder and RE/MAX. Visit treataccessibly.com to learn more.
