Metrolinx Notice: Tree removal and pruning for Bowmanville Extension
Metrolinx is preparing for the future Bowmanville Extension project.
Why: To support this work, Metrolinx will need to clear, remove, and prune designated trees and vegetation located near the CPKC rail line. This work will be conducted on both CPKC and Municipal land adjacent to Fisher Street and Albert Street in Oshawa.
When: March 26 to April 2, 2025
Details:
During this period, work is scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. However, working hours may be extended or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
All trees marked with dots along the trail corridor will be removed and replaced at a minimum ratio of 1:1.
Any bird nests encountered during tree removal process will be surveyed by an Avian Biologist to ensure protected species are not impacted.
Residents and businesses located near the rail corridor should expect noise from trucks, chainsaws, wood chippers, and other construction equipment related to this work.
