Ontario Power Generation to locate new corporate headquarters to Oshawa
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has announced it will establish a new corporate headquarters in the City of Oshawa. With the consolidation of corporate offices from across Ontario, OPG has selected the City of Oshawa as the new centre of operations at 1908 Colonel Sam Dr.
OPG’s decision will bring more than 2,000 highly skilled corporate staff to Oshawa, alongside their existing presence at the Pickering and Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations.
With this announcement, OPG will establish a new high-tech energy headquarters promoting innovation and collaboration between their many partners and suppliers.
OPG Oshawa headquarters will encompass a 26,433 m2 (284,522 sq ft) office building on 29.94 ha (74 ac) of land at 1908 Colonel Sam Dr. Anticipated occupancy will come in late 2024.
With an electrical generating portfolio including hydroelectric, nuclear, solar and biomass, OPG is one of the most diverse electricity generators in North America.
Oshawa is the eastern gateway to the most populous area of Canada and part of one of the greatest concentrations of economic activity in North America. With proximity to major North American markets, world-class research facilities and a pipeline of talent spanning nearly 30,000 post-secondary students, Oshawa continues to present a compelling proposition for major corporate investments.
