Oshawa City staff profiled as part of Local Government Week celebration
Four City of Oshawa staff are taking you behind the scenes this week as the City celebrates Local Government Week.
Celebrated annually province-wide during the third week of October, Local Government Week offers residents and community members an open invitation to learn more about their municipal government. As the level of government closest to the community, our programs and services have a significant impact on your day-to-day life.
This week, residents and community members are encouraged to follow along on the City’s Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and X accounts to learn more about the City’s roles and responsibilities and take a dive into a day in the life of four public servants. On:
- Tuesday, you’ll meet Shirley, a Research & Business Analyst who helps Oshawa Fire Services make data-informed decisions;
- Wednesday will introduce Nathan, a Facility Attendant who keeps our ice pads and pools in tip-top shape;
- Thursday will highlight Paige, a Community Events Coordinator, who keeps the fun going yearlong; and,
- Friday, you’ll meet Hayley, a Customer Service Representative in our Recreation Services Branch who helps community members find their new favourite City program, event and activity.
If these positions, or others available within the City, have sparked your interest in a public sector career:
- visit the City of Oshawa Job Portal to review positions currently available; and,
- be sure to subscribe to Employment News to receive notification when new positions are posted.
