Oshawa’s Events Shine Bright at FEO Awards 2025
The City of Oshawa is proud to announce its success at the Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) Awards 2025, with five of its premier festivals recognized among the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario. This prestigious designation highlights excellence and visibility in the festival and event industry.
The five Oshawa festivals named to the FEO Top 100 are:
- Indigenous Cultural Celebration
- Peony Festival
- Canada Day
- Kars on King
- Convergence (organized by Oshawa Tourism)
These events represent the best of Oshawa’s vibrant cultural scene and provide unmatched experiences for event-goers, events that foster community connection and celebrate the diverse traditions that make Oshawa unique.
In addition to being named among the Top 100 Festivals, the Indigenous Cultural Celebration also received two distinguished awards:
- Best New Festival
- FEO Impact Award
The Indigenous Cultural Celebration debuted in 2024 as an integral part of the City’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations and has emerged as a highlight in Oshawa. This unique festival brings together various First Nations, Inuit and Métis presenters and storytellers across several mediums and disciplines, promotes inclusivity, and reflects the values of truth and reconciliation. Its recognition with the FEO Impact Award underscores its commitment to cultural diversity and social impact.
Upcoming Events in 2025
The Peony Festival, celebrating its 13th consecutive FEO Top 100 award, will showcase stunning spring blooms, artisans, and entertainment on June 7 and 8 at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens. Kars on King, returning to downtown Oshawa on August 22, will showcase hundreds of classic cars and live performances. The Indigenous Cultural Celebration at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park on May 31 offers engaging presentations and interactive workshops. Join us at Lakeview Park for the annual Canada Day celebration, an unforgettable day filled with family-fun, entertainment and fireworks that attract thousands of visitors to the waterfront. Finally Convergence, which is organized by Oshawa Tourism on September 19 and 20, will provide a unique celebration of art, culture, and innovation, offering attendees an immersive experience in downtown Oshawa.
