Rose Valley Community Park Construction Milestones
Construction is progressing on Rose Valley Community Park, located at 1095 Thornton Rd. North, north of Rossland Road and south of Taunton Road.
The new pickle ball courts and the installation of two playground areas are now complete. Construction of the bike tracks, shade structures and formal garden are ongoing, with majority of the hard surfaces finished. The installation of the park washroom building, operations storage building, a new pedestrian crosswalk on Thornton Road, and landscape planting will follow in early 2025.
The project schedule continues to target opening for Summer 2025.
About Rose Valley Community Park
The overall project will include:
- multiple children’s playground structures designed for variety of age groups and activity levels
- benches, shaded rest areas and accessible washrooms
- pickleball courts
- expanded B.M.X. bike park
- accessible enhancements, including pathways, play structures and a fully accessible strider bike path
- a formal garden area
- walking trails and pathways
- a new parking lot with 8 accessible spaces
- a pedestrian crossing at Deer Valley Drive
