Kick off the holiday season with Oshawa’s Bright and Merry Market
The Bright and Merry Market presented by Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (T.R.R.E.B.) is back and the City of Oshawa along with many community partners are excited for an evening full of holiday lights, sounds and festive cheer.
Kick-start your holiday spirit at this free annual event on Friday, November 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at City Hall, and along Centre Street from King Street to Memorial Park at John Street. Make sure to check out the website at oshawa.ca/Merry for full details.
Bring the family to enjoy live entertainment and watch Memorial Park light up with the official tree lighting ceremony at 8 p.m. and don’t miss a special visit with Santa along the way. The City along with Oshawa Public Libraries, Oshawa Museum, Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa Tourism, and St. George's Memorial Church have partnered to create an evening to open their doors for activities, entertainment, delicious food, crafts and more!
To continue with the City of Oshawa’s centennial celebrations, this year’s Bright and Merry Market promises new exciting enhancements, including additional live entertainment, roaming buskers, an enhanced tree lighting at 8 p.m. in Memorial Park, and a free artificial skating rink in Civic Square at City Hall. Attendees wishing to use the artificial skating rink are invited to bring their own helmets and skates. There will be a free skate/helmet rental booth however helmet and skate sizing is varied and subject to availability.
Is holiday shopping on your list? Be sure to explore the many vendors selling their homemade and artisan items while strolling downtown Oshawa. Hosted by the City, the market is a great way to support local businesses and shop for unique gifts and décor for the holiday season. There will also be lots of food choices available that you can enjoy on site, so come hungry.
The City encourages everyone attending to bring a non-perishable food item to support Feed the Need in Durham. Donation bins will be located in the Oshawa Public Library, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery and inside City Hall at Civic Square for the duration of the event. Let’s help make a difference for the lives of others in Durham Region.
The City’s 2024 Bright and Merry Market is made possible through community partnerships: TD Canada, H.O.P.A. Ports and Ontario Motor Sales.
